An arch is brick at its most elegant, and its most demanding. The curve is built on a form, the bricks are cut or tapered to fit and a keystone locks the whole thing in place. Done right it carries weight for centuries; done carelessly it sags.

Often yes. We support it, remove failed bricks and mortar, relay the ring and add steel or a new abutment if the thrust is not contained.
How long does an arch take?
Most arches take a few days of laying plus cure time before the form comes off. A complex entry with several arches and piers takes longer.
