A chimney that looks right and works right.
The overview

What it is, and why it matters.

A chimney is a working machine as much as a piece of architecture. Height above the roof, flue size, clearance to wood framing and the shape of the firebox all decide whether it draws well. We build to those rules first and to your design second, so it performs as handsomely as it looks.

In Nashville and the surrounding area we build chimneys for masonry fireplaces, stoves and additions. We coordinate with builders on footings and framing, install a proper flue liner, step-flash it into the roof and finish with a crown and cap.

Why homeowners choose it

Draws well

Flue size and height matched to the fireplace.

Safe clearances

Proper distance from wood framing and the roof.

Water-tight

Step and counter flashing, sloped crown.

Looks original

Brick or stone matched to the house.

Good questions

New Chimney Construction: common questions

How tall must a chimney be?

A common rule is at least three feet above the roof where it exits and at least two feet higher than anything within ten feet. We follow your local code and the fireplace maker's instructions.

Do new chimneys need a liner?

Yes. A properly sized liner protects the masonry from heat and flue gases and is required by code in most cases.
