Stone piers that anchor an entrance.
Freestanding stone and brick columns for gates, porches, pergolas and driveways, reinforced and capped for decades of service.
- Typical timeline: 3 to 10 days
- Structure: Footing and vertical steel
- Caps: Cut stone or cast

What it is, and why it matters.
A pier looks simple, but it is a tall, narrow structure that has to be reinforced and footed correctly. We pour a footing, set vertical steel, build the column with solid or cored masonry and finish with a cast or cut stone cap that sheds water.
In Nashville and the surrounding area we build driveway piers, gate columns, porch posts, pergola supports and mailbox pillars, with lighting conduits built in so lanterns look clean and wires stay hidden.
Four things done right.
Reinforced for height
Steel and grout inside every tall pier.
Capped to shed water
Overhanging caps protect the masonry.
Hidden wiring
Conduit set inside for lights, ready to connect.
Matched materials
Stone or brick that matches your house.

Stone Columns & Piers: common questions
How tall can stone piers be?
Four to six feet is common for gate piers. Taller columns need extra engineering. We design the footing and steel for the height and the load of any gate.
Can piers be lit?
Yes. We build in conduit so a low-voltage or line-voltage fixture can be added neatly at the top or in the face.
