What it is, and why it matters.
Veneer is a skin of real brick over a structural wall. Done well, it is beautiful and long-lived; done badly, trapped water rots the wall behind it. We build the drainage plane first: weather barrier, ties set at the right spacing, flashing at the base and over openings and weep holes that actually drain.
Around Nashville we install full-size veneer on new homes and additions, and thin brick for interiors, accent walls and remodels where weight or depth is limited. We help you choose between them and match the home's existing brick when an addition has to disappear into the original.
Four things done right.
Real drainage plane
Barrier, flashing and weeps built to move water out.
Proper ties
Metal ties spaced to code hold the veneer to the wall.
Seamless additions
Brick and mortar matched to the existing house.
Clean corners
Cut, mitered and tooled for crisp edges.

Brick Veneer: common questions
Is brick veneer real brick?
Yes. Full-size veneer is the same kiln-fired brick as a solid wall, just one layer thick over a backup wall. Thin veneer uses slices of real brick or molded units on a lighter system.
Does veneer need maintenance?
Very little. Keep the weep holes clear, watch the mortar joints every few years and repoint if they soften. Sealer is optional and depends on the brick.
