Keep water out, let the wall breathe.
Waterproofing for brick, block and foundation walls: mortar repair, breathable water repellents, flashing and drainage fixes.
- Typical timeline: 1 to 5 days
- Method: Mortar repair, repellent, flashing
- Product: Breathable, penetrating

What it is, and why it matters.
Water finds its way through masonry by cracked joints, failed flashing, missing weep holes and open tops. A coating alone rarely fixes this. We diagnose the path, repair the mortar and flashing and then add a penetrating repellent that repels water but lets vapor escape.
In Nashville and the surrounding area we waterproof exterior walls, chimneys, retaining walls and below-grade foundations, with drainage and grading advice so water leaves the wall quickly.

Masonry Waterproofing: common questions
Can masonry waterproofing stop efflorescence?
It can slow it by reducing moisture, but the salts must be cleaned off and the source of the water fixed. We do both.
Is waterproof paint a good idea for brick?
Usually not. Paint can trap moisture and cause the brick to spall. A breathable repellent is the safer choice for most brick.
